This track is the latest offering from 32 year old Obaro Ejimiwe, better known by the stage name of Ghostpoet. Taken from his latest album Shedding Skin, ‘Sorry My Love, It’s You Not Me’ allows us to once again witness Ghostpoet’s captivating story-telling talents, as he cathartically depicts the emptiness of a one-night-stand and the desire for a deeper relationship.

Never restricting his work to one genre, with this song the rapper has evidently moved away from the mainly synth-based feel of his earlier material, to a musical basis of hazy guitars and harsh drum beats. The guest feature of Lucy Rose on vocals cannot go unmentioned, as her delicately husky tones serve as a charming layer to the tracks frank lyrics – “It’s just you’re forgettable”.

This combination of gritty lyricism with an enchanting instrumentation proves that Ghostpoet is back with his newest musical instalment, and it’s nothing short of unmissable.
