Apollo Junction are the Leeds five-piece uniting ’90s Britpop with fresh synth-led alt-rock to create tracks with explosive energy. The band are now ready to unveil the next part of their highly anticipated second album with their new single ‘On the Ropes’ that kickstarts the new year with a real statement of intent.
Renowned for their anthemic numbers that use a fusion of inspirations, Apollo Junction are making some serious noise after relentless hard work over the last 18 months. Their tracks are uplifting and euphoric and ‘On the Ropes’ does not fall short. This song features grungy undertones with their familiar and enticing vocal snarl, pulsating synths and rumbling bassline. What makes this release stand out is the introduction of a choir amongst the familiar infectious electro rock and roll. This element elevates the track to the next level, boasting musical maturity through clever arrangements that create a sound reminiscent of bands like Kaiser Chiefs or Gorillaz. With a crowd-pleasing chorus and sophisticated guitar work, this track is effortlessly catchy. It’s easy to hear why Steve Lamacq, Chris Hawkins and Graham Norton are fans.
As well as accumulating 500k plus streams and having their music on Spotify’s ‘It’s Alt Good’ and ‘New Noise’, Apollo Junction have also had their work featured on Ubisofts’s Watchdogs: Legion game and have also clocked hundreds of thousands of YouTube plays too. The band have also managed to take their music to just about every corner of the UK, including Isle of Wight Festival, Bingley Weekender and Car Fest, and have even supported one of their heroes—the Kaiser Chiefs.
Gearing up for a huge year with a brand-new single, album and some of the biggest gigs of their careers, Apollo Junction are set for a big one.
