MINDtheRhythm are an up and coming band from Bradford. Inspired by the likes of Rage Against the Machine, Radiohead, Jimi Hendrix, and Jurassic 5, this unique concoction of influences has helped them build a reputation including a session on BBC Introducing and playing Bradford’s Fringe Fest. They released their debut single ‘No Fiction’ in June.

The track opens with a melodic prominent bassline, working well alongside the impressively fluid drumming. The tape delay used on the guitar is reminiscent of dub reggae, which is refreshing, and it is rare that so many different styles can be used in one track. It can take you on a musical journey from Joe Kerins’ funky bass slaps to an adrenaline rush of fast indie rock, however the band make this transition effortlessly. As far as debut singles go this is stunning, fresh, and innovative. If MINDtheRhythm can keep musically thinking outside the box, then their future is bright.
