Track Review: High Like // James Vickery

James Vickery is the newcomer that isn’t really new to the industry at all.

In his early career, the singer-songwriter tried his chances at a number of talent competitions (including The X Factor and Open Mic UK), making the right connections – but not quite the impact he was hoping for.

Fast forward a few years and the South-London talent is on the rise again. After creating buzz with a feature on a Disclosure track (‘Flow’) and a string of his own releases, Vickery is set to release a new EP on Lemon Records, titled Complexion.

He has already premiered two laid-back beats from the EP (‘Alone’ and ‘Lately’), and now the young singer has just premiered a third instalment, titled ‘High Like’.

Arguably the most memorable of the new material, the track features Blue Lab Beats. With lyrics that are poetic and vocals enriched with soul, the chiming production further adds to this exciting new release.

Vickery has just announced his first headline show at Notting Hill Arts Club on 19th November. Tickets can be bought via DICE.
