Channelling the dreampop sounds of Chvrches, the electronica of Ellie Goulding and the indie waves of Warpaint and Daughter, meet NOVAA. NOVAA is an up-and-coming German electropop artist who is already turning heads in the industry. The singer has held audiences at showcases and renowned festivals, and even appeared at the GQ First Look Party.

NOVAA’s most recent offering comes in the form of her new track, ‘Danger Is My Only Lover’. The song is 3 minutes and 44 seconds of ethereal bliss and hauntingly slow in places, yet progressive towards the end respectively. Despite the lyrics being somewhat vague, the general message of the track relates to the idea of getting lost, falling in love and the exploration of the ‘good side’ of danger. The track is backed with a vivid, visually beautiful video which is as thought-provoking as it is aesthetically pleasing. With such intensity and creative control, it is hard to believe that NOVAA is just 18 years old.

‘Danger Is My Only Lover’ is completely and utterly captivating; the depth, darkness and intensity of the track is glossed with Lorde-eque vocals and a pop-infused hook – the ultimate recipe for a perfect electronic single.

‘Danger Is My Only Lover’ is available now and NOVAA’s debut EP ‘Hari’ (which features four tracks and four remixes) is released on 25th September. Be sure to order it here.
