Track Review: Daggers // Atlanta House

A hearty serving of adolescent indie rock is what’s on offer from Leeds based quintet Atlanta House, on their new single ‘Daggers’.

Nestled amongst the gritty riffs and the rugged percussive beat is the crooning voice of lead singer Matt Hirst, whose vocals are reminiscent of a hybrid between Jamie T and Van McCann. The end result is a track that’s packed with punchy, teenage zeal and despite the band’s tender age, their first official single has a polished feel to it.

Atlanta House have laid a statement of intent, and their easy-to-listen-to material is likely to appeal to guitar band enthusiasts. Watch out for them playing in the Yorkshire area over the coming months; these are ones to keep an eye on.
