The Green Man festival line up poster was where I first found out about this band, Trust Fund. Memorable name, distinctive sounding front man, and a propensity for creating really groovy sounding riffs; the first track that I heard, ‘Cut Me Out’, has all of the essential ingredients which combine to produce an absolute gem of an indie anthem.
The lyrics, when deciphered, are angsty and poignant. My favourite component of this track is the inconsistent drum beat. It gives the track a multitude of dimensions – a new crevice of this masterful piece of music can be uncovered on every listen.
Trust Fund’s album, No One’s Coming For Us, came out this year and it’s well worth a listen. Who can tell what is next for this quirky ensemble.
