Nomadic singer-songwriter Orfeo lulls the mind with blissful sensitivity on the soothing single ‘Californian Rain,’ taken from his debut album Purple Thursdays.
Originally living in London, Orfeo now resides on the East Coast of the USA, which is his home country and where he paints houses alongside his album releases. But it was in France that Orfeo penned and recorded his first record, unraveling his alluring musical talent to soothe.
The whimsical traveler breezes sweetness on ‘California Rain’, with a stylistic lo-fi bedroom music approach. The intricate details of Orfeo’s fingers sliding upon the guitar’s fret-board add a sentimental touch of DIY to the emotive song. Loops of cool plucks of guitar decorate Orfeo’s soft tones, as he spins a tale on distance and relationships. The singer-songwriter calls across seas to ask ‘California how you doing, is it raining there for once?’ The track adorably embodies a feeling of loneliness in a vast world, as Orfeo expresses solitude with charm.
