Gen Z is flipping out for Beabadoobee’s new single ‘Talk’ and are counting the days until the release of her next album Beatopia out this summer, July 15. Her sophomore album Beatopia will flag the return of teen garage punk-rock with a dash of DY aesthetic sound blurred in sepia tone snapshots.

Bea Kristi was born in the Philippines and grew up in London. The Big Smoke has been inspiring Beabadoobee’s output since her earliest EPs, from Patched Up to Love Worm and Fake It Flowers. Bea’s popularity has skyrocketed after Powfu sampled one of her first songs ever released ‘Coffee’ in his track ‘Death Bed (Coffee For Your Head)’, which exploded on TikTok and other social platforms two years ago.

However, the talent of Beabadoobee can be found in more introspective and personal tracks like ‘Everest’. Included in Patched Up EP, this single best highlighted Bea’s purest inner voice expressed through minimal guitar chords. Surely Beatopia is going to sound the exact opposite.

‘Talk’ unlocks a more mature era for Beabadoobee as she refreshes the old-school guitar riffs of Avril Lavigne, Sum 41, and Blink 182. Forget the bedroom sweet-sounding pop songs from Patched Up, Bea is now showing all of her confidence and she wants to “talk” about “doing things that aren’t necessarily healthy or great for you, but you can’t help indulging,” said the 22-years-old highly acclaimed songwriter on several occasions. There’s no doubt Beatopia will give fans across the world with the chance to express their unique kookiness to the fullest through cool and blazing choruses as in ‘Talk’. While waiting to see Beabadoobee live and basically go nuts, you can now rehearse the perfect headbang by watching ‘Talk’ music video here.
