Based in Melbourne, Australia, Banoffee is a solo project from fresh new talent Martha Brown. Delicate and soothing, Banoffee’s track ‘With Her’ has a sort of liquid quality to it; an intriguing combination of synthetic sounds and raw instruments make for a quiet, beautiful record.

Tinged with sadness and regret, the lyrics are gently sung but the chorus is infectious. Building up layers of instruments throughout the track, the tune can appeal to an array of tastes in music, with hints of R’n’B mixed with a more pop/trance vibe from the synthetic beats. It’s the sort of song you could listen to over and over and not get bored of – it’s so gorgeously simple and easy to listen to, yet there is so much meaning and emotion packed into the verses. ‘With Her’ is smooth, rich and well worth a listen, or three.
