1) Turn Left

Imagine it; a world without The Doctor. Imagine the countless disasters that would happen because The Doctor wasn’t there to stop them. That’s exactly what happens in Turn Left, and it does so with tremendous success. It marks the long-awaited return of Rose Tyler, and a subtle little nod to The Trickster from The Sarah Jane Adventures. The episode was universally praised for its depiction of dystopia, and the scene in which an immigrant family is sent to a ‘labour camp’ is harrowing. Catherine Tate gives one of her strongest performances as Donna Noble, which ultimately cements her as possibly the best companion of the revival (excluding Sarah Jane Smith, of course). It’s unlikely that any episode of Doctor Who will ever come close to this utter masterpiece.
