It has recently been confirmed that theatre goers will be able to continue defying gravity as the award-winning musical, Wicked, extends their West End run to 27th November 2021.

The Apollo Victoria Theatre, currently home to Wicked, has been closed since the COVID-19  pandemic forced the country into lockdown.

Following this announcement, the show has also cancelled all performances until 31 October 2020, with future cancellations being announced on a rolling basis.

The show, based on the novel Wicked: The Life and Times of The Wicked Witch of the West, is already in it’s fourteenth year on the West End. The show has had over 5,000 performances and has seen the likes of Kerry Ellis, Rachel Tucker, Louise Dearman and Sophie Evans play the title roles of Elphaba and Glinda.

For those who haven’t seen the show, we follow the characters of Elphaba and Glinda in a story all about the power of friendship with both characters experiencing an extraordinary adventure in Oz.

Words by Neve Gordon-Farleigh.
