October brings with it a whole host of gaming delights – from dragons to dual dimensions, classic horror to a new twist on a fast-paced tale, epic arena battles and the hunter becoming the hunted, there is something for everyone this month to enjoy as the nights grow longer and autumn arrives.
Silent Hill 2 Remake
A mystery awaits in this survival horror remake. In Silent Hill 2 Remake, players will once again follow the story of James Sunderland, a widower who travels to the town of Silent Hill after receiving a letter from his late wife Mary, asking him to meet her there. Once he arrives in the town, however, he encounters others who have found themselves in Silent Hill by various paths and realise there is more to this mysterious town than meets the eye – with all manner of twisted horrors waiting around the corner.
Players who pre-order any edition will unlock a Mira The Dog mask, with a Robbie the Rabbit mask available as a bonus to those on PS5. The Deluxe Edition includes a copy of the game, digital Artbook, digital soundtrack and Pyramid Head mask (pizza box). Those who pre-order the Deluxe Edition will also unlock 48 hours of Early Access as an additional bonus.
Silent Hill 2 Remake will be available on PlayStation 5 and PC from October 8*
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero
Get ready to do battle like never before in this latest release from the world of Dragon Ball. With over 180 fighters, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero will take the legendary gameplay of the Budokai Tenkaichi series to a whole new level. With your chosen fighter, step into the arena and test your might against other players in ranked matches or in tournaments – both offline and online. For those wanting a single-player experience, the Episode Battle will take eight different characters – Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, Future Trunks, Frieza, Guko Black and Jiren – through various stages of the Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Super story, but this time with the ability to make their own choices.
Players who pre-order any edition will receive an early unlock for six playable characters, with each edition have an exclusive character. The Deluxe Edition includes the base game, and the Early Access Season Pass – which includes a Summon Shenron and three post-launch DLC packs. The Ultimate Edition includes the base game, the Deluxe Edition content, a bonus Summon Super Shenron and the Ultimate Upgrade Pack – which includes two player card backgrounds, an emote voice set, one customisation item and Goku (Super) Costume with Power Pole.
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC from October 11*
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
Do whatever it takes to survive in the latest chapter of Call of Duty. Set in the early 1990s, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 sees the return of Frank Woods to the franchise, as he is tracked down by a CIA operative who was thought to be missing in action. After receiving a cryptic message from Agent Adler, Woods and his protégé Troy Marshall get to work in forming a team to take down “Pantheon” – a clandestine force who may have infiltrated even the highest levels of the CIA, labelling anyone who opposes them as traitors – including Frank, Troy and their team. Now their only chance of survival is to go rogue to take Pantheon down once and for all.
Players who pre-order will receive immediate use of Call of Duty Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Warzone and two packs: the Woods Operator pack – featuring three bonus skins – and Reflect 115 Camo pack – featuring the Reflect 115 Weapon Camo and access to nine acquisitions for Modern Warfare Zombies. The Vault Edition includes the base game, Hunter v Hunted Operator pack with four bonus skins, Mastercraft Collection of five weapons, BlackCell for one season with 20 tier skips, Battle Pass, 1100CP and more, and a Gobblegum pack for Zombies. In addition, the Standard Edition will be available on Xbox Game Pass.

Sonic X Shadow Generations
Confront the past to save the future in this Sonic bundle. Taking place alongside the events of the remastered Sonic Generations, Shadow Generations is a new story featuring the titular hedgehog as he battles with the alien Black Doom, who has returned to face Shadow once more in his quest for world domination. As he tries to keep Black Doom at bay, Shadow realises he must journey into his own past to find a way to stop the alien threat, confronting some painful truths about his own life along the way as he journeys through time and dimensions to prepare for the ultimate showdown.
Players who pre-order any edition will receive a Sonic Adventure Legacy Skin, with physical pre-orders also including a reversible cover for the game and Gerald Robotnik’s Journal – a 28-page logbook detailing Shadow’s creation. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the base game, three days Early Access and the Digital Deluxe Season Pass – including a Terlos skin for Shadow, extra BGM pack, digital artbook and soundtrack and the Sonic The Hedgehog 3 Movie Pack (released Holiday 2024)
The Collectors Edition includes the base game (physical copy on console, digital code on PC), The Art of Sonic x Shadow Generations book, official soundtrack, Steelbook, Chao figurines, Sonic/Shadow/Classic Sonic Shoes keychain, Sonic x Shadow Dreamcast Statue and Commemorative Dreamcast Jewel Case with an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity.

Life is Strange: Double Exposure
Max Caulfield returns in the next chapter of Life is Strange. In Life Is Strange: Double Exposure, Max is now the photographer-in-residence at the prestigious Caledon University, trying to distance herself from the memories of her past. But her new peace is shattered when her friend Safi is found dead in the snow. In order to find out what happened and save her, Max decides to use her powers to wind back in time. Only this time, it doesn’t go to plan as Max hasn’t used her powers in years. This time, she ends up creating two timelines – one where Safi dies and another where she lives and in both versions, the killer is looking to continue their spree and kill again, so it will be up to players to help Max traverse the timelines and stop the killer.
The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the base game and two bonus outfit packs – Decades and Spooky – for Max. The Digital Ultimate Edition includes the base game, Spooky and Decades outfit packs, three additional outfit packs – Final Fantasy VII, Fan Favourite and Paw Prints – and exclusive Cat content.
The Life is Strange: Double Exposure Collector’s Box – available exclusively via the Square Enix store – includes the Collector’s Edition Goods Box, soundtrack on 12” vinyl, 32-page mini hardcover artbook, four double-sided art cards and a replica of Max’s Owl Pin. This box is being sold separately and does not include a copy of the game.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard
Unite the Veilguard and defy the gods in the next instalment from Dragon Age. Set 10 years after the events of Inquisition, Dragon Age: The Veilguard will follow Rook, the player character, as they journey across Thedas. With Solas having already begun the ritual to tear down the Veil between worlds, Rook will travel the lands to recruit a Veilguard – a team of seven companions with their own reasons for joining the fight and their own stories to explore while on the journey to stop Solas before he can tear down the Veil and unleash hordes of demons on Thedas, destroying everything in its wake.
Players who pre-order will receive the Blood Dragon armour set – with bonus armour for Warrior, Mage and Rogue Rook (1 per class). The Deluxe Edition includes the base game, six bonus weapon appearances for Rook, a bonus Warrior armour set, a bonus Mage armour set, a bonus Rogue armour set, seven weapon appearances for companions and seven armour set appearances for companions.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC from October 31*
Free to Play
On PlayStation, players with any tier of Plus subscription will have three new titles to download and play for free this month. From October 1* Dead Space will be available on PlayStation 5, with both Doki Doki Literature Club Plus! and WWE 2K24 available on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
