There’s something exceptional about finding a song that simply boosts your motivation and gives you a hypothetical kick that inspires you to plough through even the most tiresome of tasks – revision.

‘Roll With It’ by Oasis from their second album (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? does just this. As well as the memorable, upbeat tune and repetitive beat, ‘Roll With It’ also consists of some wonderfully encouraging lyrics: “Don’t ever stand aside / don’t ever be denied”. The song itself seems to preach to the listener the importance of being yourself, and Liam Gallagher’s distinct drawl telling you to carry on and to not give up is enough to make even the most unenthusiastic of people determined.

‘Roll With It’ has a feel-good vibe which gives the push one needs in order to get revision completed rather than procrastinating. The song has a catchy, reoccurring bassline and expressive guitar riffs. The rhythm of the piece is just right, allowing the listener to also concentrate and focus on their work. ‘Roll With It’ reveals four whole minutes of inspiration, and is one of those songs that could make nearly any task tolerable whilst listening to it.
