Following the announcement that Super Rare Games would be branching out into digital game publishing with Super Rare Originals, it’s now been revealed that Grapple Dog will be their first game.
A 2D action-platformer developed by Medallion Games, you’ll be playing as Pablo, the aforementioned Grapple Dog, as he embarks on his epic quest to stop a robotic terror from destroying the world.
With his trusty grappling hook, Pablo will be jumping, swinging and zipping through 6 colourful worlds and 33 collectable filled levels. There will be plenty of secret areas to investigate, spectacular boss battles to fight and bonus levels to test your skill.
In addition to this exciting adventure story, the game also features a Time Trial mode for the speedrunners out there, as well as in-game accessibility options, so everyone will be able to play their way and without restriction.
Grapple Dog has been a largely solo labour of love over several years for pixel artist and game designer, Joseph Gribbin. But, alongside Jazz Mickle’s funky soundtrack and Damion Sheppard’s exquisite sound design, Grapple Dog has found a loving home at Super Rare.
If all of that wasn’t enough, it has also been confirmed that there will be plenty of dog petting involved!
Grapple Dog will be making its way to Steam and the Nintendo eShop on February 10.
