The trailer for the third season of the critically acclaimed HBO comedy-drama Succession has been released. The Emmy Award-winning show will return to HBO this fall with regular cast members Brian Cox, Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, Jeremy Strong, Nicholas Braun and Matthew Macfadyen.
After the events of last season, where Kendall publicly defied his father, you can bet the drama teased in the trailer for the new season is primed to explode. With the limited amount of information on specifics for this season shown in the trailer, you can bet there will be more scheming, power-grabbing, and generally sweary antics with the Roy clan.
The newest season of the show has taken a while to get to our screens due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which delayed filming numerous times before getting underway in December of last year. The show also contains a host of new faces, including Alexander Skarsgård in a recurring role, alongside new recurring characters played by Sanaa Lathum, Linda Edmund, and Jihae appearing respectively. Adrien Brody will also make a guest appearance this season.
With much under wraps about Succession’s third season, we definitely know the executive producer and showrunner Jesse Armstrong will be back at the helm, while guest directors for this season include Cathy Yan (Birds of Prey) and Lorene Scafaria (Hustlers).
Given how the last season concluded, it sets up a very tense opener for the third instalment in the comedy-drama. There have been reports as well that this might be the penultimate instalment for the Roy clan, with executive producer Georgia Pritchett signalling that Succession may come to an end in either the third or the fourth season. There isn’t currently a release date for the third season but expect it to air sometime this autumn. Succession is available in the US on HBO and HBO Max. In the UK it is available on Sky Atlantic and NOW.
