Single Review: VVV // Baby Strange

Glaswegian 3 piece Baby Strange may share their name with a T. Rex song but don’t let that fool you; they have enough bite to rip your head clean off and new single ‘VVV’ is the perfect example of this. Taking inspiration from Queens of the Stone Age’s sexy, no-nonsense approach to rock, the track revolves around a stomping bassline that chugs along throughout. This provides the foundations for the sinister strokes of guitar that explode into a huge riff towards its latter stages.

However, its frontman Johnny Madden’s vocals that takes centre stage as they seep through the backing track and wrap around your earlobe, giving the track its seductive tone. Despite not having released anything but singles at the moment, it’s clear to see that Baby Strange have bags full of potential and they’re simply biding their time before they terrorise your music collection.
