Hailing from Northhampton, Billy Lockett is a singer-songwriter well on his way up the musical ladder. With fans amongst the DJs at BBC Radio 1, Radio 2 and XFM, the curly-haired musician recently earned the title of one of a handful of unsigned artists to ever have reached the Top 40 with his latest EP Old Man, the title track being an ode to his late father. With a headline tour approaching next month, the singer, pianist and guitarist’s new track ‘Never Let You Go’ is already making waves just a few days after its release.

Showcasing his unique vocals as well as his instrumental talent, ‘Never Let You Go’ is a lover’s plea. Lockett’s falsetto begs his lover: “I’ll never let you go / so don’t leave” – which, accompanied with his haunting piano and acoustic guitar melody, fills the track with the raw emotion that has become characteristic of Lockett’s sound. As such a memorable single, ‘Never Let You Go’, alongside ‘Old Man’ and ‘Pathways’, hits the high note as one of Lockett’s best tracks, and one that will no doubt help lead his rise to musical fame.
