Single Review: You // Coasts

Their first debut album may be one of the biggest albums to hit our music collection this 2016 but till then we feast our ears on ‘You’, one of the newest releases by Coasts.

Short but effective, the 3 minute tune reflects on the past five years that Coasts have been providing music. With a glimpse of techno (taking an influence from album co-producer Elliot James, notable for his work with Two Door Cinema Club) the track twists and bends the limits of indie rock, a genre the band associate most with themselves. Evidently different to their previous sounds, Chris Caines’ Bristol twang is clear throughout especially during the harmonious chorus of ‘you make me feel like I’m holding onto something real’.

In short, ‘You’ is an experiment of sounds that simply provides us with more and more excitement for the upcoming album.
