Rae Morris can be recognised as the magical voice behind ‘Luna’ with Bombay Bicycle Club, on their stunning newest album So Long, See You Tomorrow. Now, she is proving she can be that wonderful by herself, with her new single ‘Closer’. Amid these soft, hushed tones and THE hair (which I am completely jealous of) is a dazzling rawness which is bringing a new dynamic to pop music.

‘Closer’ is an amalgamation of piano melodies and techno beats, drawing to mind a unification of Kate Bush and Clean Bandit. The imaginative music video depicts quite perfectly the aesthetic and fairytale nature of Rae Morris’ songs. The lyrics portray a blossoming and complicated love as she sings: “Whatever is left of me / will keep me closer to you.” Rae Morris has created an enjoyable and all-round lovely song to listen to.
