The actor is reportedly on her way to join David Leitch’s all-star cast for his upcoming assassin thriller.

Bullet Train already boasts major talent with an array of acclaimed actors such as Brad Pitt, Joey King, Lady Gaga, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Zazie Beetz, Michael Shannon, Logan Lerman, Masi Oka and Andrew Koji. Interestingly, this will also mark the first time both Brad Pitt and Sandra Bullock cross paths on screen.

As is currently the case with all cast members, Sony has not confirmed what role Bullock will play.

Details are equally as scarce surrounding the film’s synopsis. It seems, however, that the essential plot will strike many similarities to Agatha Christies’ notorious ‘murder on a train’ device. Bullet Train is based on Japanese author Kotaro Isaka’s novel Maria Beetle. According to a summary provided by Deadline, the plot follows five assassins who “find themselves on a fast-moving bullet train from Tokyo to Morioka with only a few stops in between. They discover their missions are not unrelated to one another. The question becomes, who will make it off the train alive and what awaits them at the terminal station?”

On 24 June 2020, Deadline announced that Hobbs & Shaw Director David Leitch will both direct and supervise the script written by Zak Olkewicz.

Production began as planned in October 2020 in Los Angeles despite rising COVID-19 cases in the California region. Aside from one crew member’s coronavirus scare, causing the cast to be sent home temporarily, production has mostly remained uninterrupted.

Release yet has not yet been confirmed. However, with production going ahead as planned, we could estimate a release some time in 2022.
