On the 11th of September, The Royal Opera House officially announced its program for its autumn and winter season cinema performances. This comes at a time where in-person opera events are still closed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The season includes recorded products from the past few years and includes such works as the ballet Giselle (with conductor Barry Wordsworth), the operatic tragedy Manon Lescaut (with conductor Antonio Pappano), an operatic adaptation of Shakespeare’s Macbeth (with conductor Antonio Pappano) and the classic ballet The Nutcracker (with conductor Boris Gruzin).

The list of cinema screenings that will be featuring the productions is scheduled to be released on the 25th of September. The season will also feature radio shows, online tours and recordings, as well as television broadcasts on Sky Arts. As is common with cinema screenings of Royal Opera House productions, the screenings will feature behind the scenes footage, interviews with cast and crew, and an explorative guide to the history of these productions.
