Netflix has just unveiled its latest offering: a star-studded affair bringing together two Emmy Award-winning beloved icons from the late 90s and early 2000s sitcoms, Deadline has reported. The streaming giant’s upcoming dark comedy series, No Good Deed, is set to showcase Lisa Kudrow, famously known from Friends, alongside Everybody Loves Raymond star Ray Romano.

Created by Liz Feldman, the mastermind behind Dead To Me, No Good Deed is a dark comedy series that, over eight half-hour episodes, plunges into the frantic competition among three families, all fixated on one coveted prize—their dream home. However, as the sellers learned, dreams can often transform into nightmares in the blink of an eye.

Feldman drew inspiration for the series from her “many late nights during the early pandemic maniacally searching Zillow listings for a way out of my house.” Her real-life experiences navigating the platform unveiled the bleakness lurking behind what seemed like hopeful house-hunting adventures. The series delves into the families’ entangled lives and secrets, set against the backdrop of sunny Southern California—a landscape riddled with hidden shadows and untold stories.

Lisa Kudrow steps into the role of Lydia Morgan, a highly talented former concert pianist, entangled in emotional turmoil over bidding farewell to the cherished Los Feliz home, a place steeped with both fond memories and buried enigmas. Meanwhile, Ray Romano embodies Paul Morgan, Lydia’s husband, a perpetually strained and flat-broke contractor envisioning a fresh start. Paul firmly believes that selling their beautiful residence will wipe clean their financial slate, yet his past mistakes linger, haunting his envisioned future.

Adding to the excitement, the series also boasts a stellar ensemble of talented actors: Linda Cardellini as Margo Starling, Luke Wilson as JD Campbell, Teyonah Parris as Carla, Abbi Jacobson as Leslie Fisher, and Poppy Liu as Sarah. Each character weaves a unique narrative thread into the tangled web of aspirations and secrets within the series.

Feldman, serving as the showrunner and executive producer (alongside Will Ferrell and Jessica Elbaum) for Gloria Sanchez Productions, promises a gripping tale exploring the complex lives and tangled desires of these families, where unforeseen complexities surface when dreams collide.

With Feldman’s storytelling prowess and an exceptional ensemble cast in place, No Good Deed shapes up to become the next binge-worthy sensation on the streaming giant.
