After celebrating its 10th anniversary last year, Latitude’s 2016 lineup looks set to build on the foundations that has made it one of the biggest festivals in the UK.

Upon announcing their roster in March this year, the festival revealed their 2016 headliners, who arrived in the form of The Maccabees, The National and New Order. Honourable mentions on the main stage also go to M83, Chvrches and The Lumineers, as Latitude continues to flex its ability to attract some of the biggest names in what is currently a heavily saturated UK festival scene.

Another highlight of the festival is the BBC Radio 6 Music stage, which showcases the best in alternative and left-field music from a range of musical genres. Highlights from this eccentric stage of music come from indie electro-pop trio Miike Snow, psychedelic singer-songwriter Kurt Vile and the Violators, Icelandic chamber-pop group Of Monsters and Men and the exotically enticing Grimes.

However, Latitude festival is not just about the music. Set in the heart of the Suffolk countryside, the four-day festival also has an extensive comedy lineup, with the likes of Russell Howard, Al Murray and Nish Kumar performing in the comedy tent over the course of the weekend.

With an onsite cinema debuting some of the hottest films around, performances on the picturesque Lake Stage and DJ sets arranged in the foresty depths that encompass the festival, Latitude’s setting in the Suffolk countryside alone is a reason to attend this highly popular event.

By having stages and tents dedicated to poetry, cabaret and theatre, Latitude is set to add a touch of cultural and artistic flavouring to festivities and this is certainly a chance to explore something that often takes a backseat at festivals, yet is just as exciting and vibrant.

Latitude festival will take place in Henham Park, Southwald, Suffolk from Thursday July 14th to Sunday July 17th and tickets are available from here.
