Pleasance Theatre Trust has announced their first official on-sale for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2023, including theatre, comedy, circus, and family productions.

A new musical written by Harry Hill and Steve Brown entitled TONY! [The Tony Blair Rock Opera], will be performed at Pentland Theatre as part of its UK tour.

Adam Kay will return to the Fringe with Undoctored -This is Going to Hurt…More, filled with tales from Adam’s time both on and off the ward, which he has adapted into a book and a TV show. Another returning act is Chloe Petts, who will be performing her 2022 Fringe and Soho Theatre sell out debut, If You Can’t Say Anything Nice.

The Guinness World Record–breaking song and sketch show Newsrevue will return to the Edinburgh Fringe, allowing audiences to laugh at the parodied politics and those in the public eye as portrayed on stage.

Diana: The Untold and Untrue Story will combine drag, multimedia, audience interaction, puppetry and queer joy. In addition, one-man show In Loyal Company returns to Edinburgh after sold out runs in 2018 and 2019. The show tells the true story of missing WWII soldier Arthur Robinson, written and performed by his great nephew David William Bryan.

Paul Merton is returning to the Pleasance after three years away with his highly acclaimed improvisation show Impro Chums. The smash hit, multi sell-out Fringe phenomenon Shit-faced Shakespeare is returning to the Fringe as well, this year tacking Romeo and Juliet with a drunk cast member. The Olivier-Award winning West End hit Showstoppers! The Musical is also returning for another year.

The Best of Edinburgh Showcase will run each day with a handpicked line up for lunchtime comedy, and Mervyn Stutter’s Pick of the Fringe will celebrate its 30th anniversary this year, highlighting seven top shows every day in a 90 minute lunchtime showcase.

More shows are yet to be announced, alongside support for innovative newcomers through the Pleasance’s artist development strand, Pleasance Futures.
