Season two of Peacemaker, created by DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn, has recently completed filming.
In a recent post on X, Gunn made the announcement, thanking the series’ cast and crew for their efforts on season two.
Starring former WWE professional wrestler and actor John Cena in the titular role, the series picks up directly after the events of Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, with cocky mercenary Peacemaker (Cena) working on a secret mission, Project Butterfly, for the A.R.G.U.S. black ops squad.
Peacemaker also stars Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Chukwudi Iwuji, Steve Agee, Jennifer Holland, Robert Patrick, Tim Meadows and Sol Rodríguez. New additions to the cast for its second season include David Denman, Anissa Matlock, Taylor St. Clair and Dorian Kingi, whose roles have not yet been revealed.
Season two of Peacemaker will also feature Frank Grillo as another major addition to the series, portraying Rick Flag Sr. The character’s son, Rick Flag Jr (portrayed by Joel Kinnaman), was killed by Peacemaker in The Suicide Squad.
Grillo will also voice Rick Flag Sr. in Creature Commandos, an upcoming DC series created and written by Gunn. This upcoming series also stars Steve Agee, Maria Bakalova, Zoë Chao, Sean Gunn, Indira Valma, Viola Davis, David Harbour, Anya Chalotra and Alan Tudyk. Creature Commandos’ first two episodes are set to be released on December 5 on Max, with weekly episodes to follow until January 9 2025.
