All hail the Asuras, a band with true Scottish grit and determination for success. The Asuras have been pulling no punches with their music since the release of their debut track ‘On The Get By’ in 2018. The five-piece have worked extremely hard over the last four years and you can tell from their music that they have grown stronger with each track. If you’re looking for a song that embodies everything great about the band, look no further than ‘Best Friend House’. A fantastic track that has great energy, and can truly make a crowd go wild. The Asuras also have excellent stage presence and you can tell they truly enjoy playing music, which makes seeing them live even better. Discussing the impact of coronavirus on the band, they said: “It’s been a real struggle. Not being able to rehearse doesn’t just affect our skills and playing as a band, but even how close we are to each other… We’ve been sending voice notes back and forth, but it makes motivation that little bit harder. Not hearing it all come together live”.

The band are real, there isn’t anything false about them. It is clear that what is seen in their music is raw and from the heart. The Asuras have released live performance recordings. Live gigs may not be back soon, but when they are, The Asuras are planning on world domination. Good luck boys.

The Roly Mo

The Roly Mo are a band made through good fortunes, as they came together after a chance meeting at T In The Park. But the four-piece aren’t just good friends who came together to create a band, but a truly exciting outfit that are creating some of the best music in Glasgow. The Roly Mo are pure Glasgow, representing everything that makes the city. Foulmouthed, no-nonsense and ready to go at any moment. The band have worked extremely hard to become who they are and have created a sound that is all their own. Their loud and over-the-top style is perfect for a night in the pit or if you’re looking to make the room jump at a gaff (Scottish Word for Houseparty).

Discussing the pandemic and how they were one of the few lucky bands, they said: “It messed the majority of other bands plans up but we were lucky enough to have a full EP already recorded so that gave us something to give to all the bored people in lockdown that pay attention to us”.

“We have still been working away on new songs & tightening up our live set so that we can return with a bang! Also been recording a new batch of songs that we are very confident with… there’s definitely a jump in quality from our last EP so eyes peeled!”.

The Roly Mo have all the potential in the world, and it’s exciting to see them grow step by step. Here’s hoping that the boys get back on stage soon, they miss the dancing but so do we.
