New ‘Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’ Trailer Released

The Pokémon Company have debuted a new trailer for upcoming games Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet titled Seek Your Treasure!

The trailer which premiered today on The Official Pokémon YouTube Channel, revealed three new Pokémon, Armarouge, Ceruledge, and Klawf.

New Ways to Play!

This latest trailer also showed off the antagonistic gang, Team Star. Team Star appear to be a group of delinquent and villainous students the player will encounter whilst exploring Paldea. The members in this group will have school uniforms, similar to the players, but will be identifiable by their distinct helmets and glasses.

These variations in appearance appear to correlate to smaller themed subgroups within Team Star, such as the Fire Crew which as revealed by the trailer and confirmed on Pokemon.com is headed by Mela. It is unclear which (if any) other Pokémon types will have correlating Team Star crews; however, a common suspicion is that each type-specific gym will have a Team Star crew.

The trailer also introduced several new NPCs, the Pokémon League chairwoman Geeta, the Grass-type gym leader Brassisus, and a classmate named Arven whom the player can help in Path of Legends, a separate story where the player helps Arven hunt rare ingredients including the Herba Mystica ‒ These rare ingredients are guarded by Titan Pokémon, a feature revealed in an earlier trailer.

Switching it Up!

Nintendo has also revealed a Switch OLED Pokémon Scarlet and Violet model which features unique Joy-Cons matching the scarlet and violet theme colours; an OLED model screen with a rear plate design based on the game’s starters (Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly); and a white dock depicting the two new legendary Pokémons (Koraidon and Miraidon). The Pokémon Scarlet and Violet model Nintendo Switch is set to release on 4 November 2022.

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are available for pre-order and launches on Nintendo Switch on 18 November 2022.
