Spoiler warning: This article contains spoilers for the second season of the Netflix series The Lincoln Lawyer.

Netflix has dropped the official trailer for part two of the second series of the hit courtroom series The Lincoln Lawyer.

Based on the books by Michael Connelly, The Lincoln Lawyer centres around hotshot lawyer Mickey Haller (played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) whose found behind the wheel of his beloved Lincoln (though he’s usually located in the backseat whilst his driver Izzy takes the wheel). In an unconventional setup, his law business is run alongside his ex-wife Lorna (Becki Newton), whilst his other ex-wife Maggie (Neve Campbell) and her role as District Attorney creates some extra conflict for the fan-favourite lawyer.

The second season, which immediately landed as the number one TV show on Netflix when it premiered, is an adaptation of Connelly’s 2011 novel The Fifth Witness. After an overwhelming legal win at the end of the first season, season two picks up with an in-demand Mickey who has a plethora of high-profile cases to choose from. In an interview with Netflix’s fan event Tudum, Garcia-Rulfo spoke of Mickey’s change in status: “He’s got his mojo back and his confidence back and all that, but I think that success brings a lot of bad stuff as well if you don’t know how to handle it—and I think he wasn’t ready for it.” You can watch the part two trailer below.

At the end of the first five episodes of part one, Mickey is in a challenging spot after being attacked and left for dead during a distinguished murder case. Whilst defending the chef Lisa Trammell (Lana Parrilla, of Once Upon a Time fame), Mickey is facing mounting evidence against his client and love interest.

Will Mickey get Lisa exonerated from this charge? We’ll have to tune back in to find out all in the season’s highly anticipated second part.

Part two of The Lincoln Lawyer season two premieres on Netflix on August 3. Previous episodes are available to watch now on the streaming platform.
