Developer and Publisher TaleWorlds Entertainment has announced that their acclaimed action RPG Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord will be released on PlayStation (PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5) and Xbox consoles (Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X) on 25 October 2022.

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is the sequel to 2010’s Mount & Blade: Warband, one of the most critically and commercially successful RPGs of all time. The Mount & Blade series is regularly lauded for its immersive gameplay, which combines action, RPG, and strategy in the sandbox world of Calradia.

Armagan Yavuz, founder and CEO of TaleWorlds Entertainment praised the developmental staff, stating; “Developing a massive and complex game such as Bannerlord, for several platforms, and in the middle of a pandemic, is no easy task – and I’m incredibly proud of our team for its relentless, brilliant work … We’re looking forward to putting the game in the hands of our amazing community, which has been supporting us in consoles since Warband.”

It was also revealed during the announcement at Gamescom 2022 that the PC version of the game will also be leaving Early Access, where it has been available since March 2020, for a full release the same day as consoles. Despite the release of the full version of Bannerlord, TaleWorlds Entertainment has assured fans that the game will keep receiving updates for months to come.

Bannerlord is a prequel to Warband, taking place 210 years before the Calradia of the previous instalment. The Calradian Empire is on the verge of collapse, engulfed in civil war, with factions vying for power in an attempt to establish their own hegemony over the war-torn continent.

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is available for Pre-Order on PlayStation Store, Xbox Marketplace, and at select major retailers.
