Overwatch
Set on Earth in the near future, Overwatch is a multi-player game where an “Omnic-Crisis” had threatened to see the world overrun by AI. The title of the game refers to the task force turned peacekeeping organisation set up to resolve the crisis. Once seen as the saviours of humanity, Overwatch was soon plagued by rumours of corruption and sedition among their ranks as people began to turn on them, with the end coming after an incident saw the destruction of the Overwatch HQ and the death of it’s leaders.
In this multi-player shooter game, players work in teams of six to win one of three different primary game modes. “Assault” is where one team must work to conquer two map points while the other team tries to stop them, “Control” is where a team have to capture and defend a certain point for a certain amount of time and “Escort” is where one team must get a payload from one point to another, defending it from the other team, before time runs out. Players with the Origins Edition will have 21 heroes to choose from and bonus skins, some paying homage to Blizzard’s other titles. Those with the Collector’s Edition will have all the content from the Origins Edition, a steel-book case, Soldier 76 statue, art-book and a copy of the game’s soundtrack.
Overwatch will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC from May 24*
