When my first band broke up, I didn’t contemplate how much I would miss playing live music. Frank Turner was sort of one of the first people in the “solo artist” category to stick out to me, because he had the energy and emotion of a punk band but (at the time) it was just him strumming on an acoustic guitar.

Tape Deck Heart was a masterpiece, but the first song I heard by Frank was ‘Try This At Home’. To me it represents where I am now – trying to balance the energy of punk rock vs. playing by yourself (I am in a band but we don’t get to practice much and will probably not be around past next year). I love Frank Turner and I hope to grow as a musician in many of the ways he has.
