We Found Love // Palma Violets

And finally, here we arrive at the final stop in this post, ‘We Found Love’.  The reason this song is special to me is not because of the generic idea of finding love as the title suggests, but the acceptance that love might not last, it isn’t a sure thing: “You are my serpentine / But I’ll never look you in the eyes again.”

The song is juxtaposed into two halves, the first happy and heavily influenced with Punk, it’s full of hope and euphoria, and then it shifts into a more melancholy viewpoint of that idea. The song is both sympathetic and a good old finger up to the attitudes that people sometimes have of love lasting forever.
