Government guidelines have indicated that events may be able to take place this summer, leading festivals such as The Neighborhood Weekender to release their line-ups.

However, this quickly came with the sour news that the Neighbourhood Weekender Saturday headliner Ian Brown has now been replaced due to his vaccine concerns.

Ian Brown has been extremely vocal about the vaccine process within the UK, producing a series of tweets which were discouraging events to have it be a mandate for those attending to be vaccinated.  The former Stone Roses frontman tweeted:

Brown would make a further tweet confirming his stance after the announcement by the Neighborhood Weekender saying:

For fans of Brown this comes as a massive disappointment, as it seems as all his festival performances around the UK will be cancelled.

Coming in as his replacement, JAMES joins Sam Fender and Shed Seven in the Saturday lineup.

The festival was postponed last year due to the pandemic, but this year will return in full force with a series of new dates at the beginning of September.

Over the years the festival has featured the likes of George Ezra, Courteeners and Blossoms. Based in Warrington and taking place in Victoria Park, the event is a combination of live performances, gourmet foods and a fun fayre.

Traditionally a two day event, the organisers have made it their mission to make this year’s event the best they possibly can. This has led to the introduction of third night, as the Friday will see a much more subdued affair with less artists.

However, the organisers have confirmed an excellent day of artist’s headlines by scottish artist Gerry Cinnamon and liverpool rock band Circa Waves. Friday seems like a great addition to what is already a fantastic weekend event. Other artist’s performing that weekend are Catfish and the Bottlemen, The Wombats and Sundara Karma.
