‘STAR TREK 3’ IS REVEALED TO BE DIRECTOR-LESS AFTER ORCI’S EXIT

After the huge success of the first two films in the rebooted Star Trek franchise, it was inevitable that a third was on the way. However, with JJ Abrams busy filming ‘in a galaxy far, far away’, the director’s chair became nervously empty. For a long time, it was assumed that previous writer/producer of the film series, Roberto Orci would take the helm; However it has recently been announced that Orci has now pulled out of directing the film. This has led to much speculation as to who will be his replacement, with some suggesting filmmakers such as Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead) and Joe Cornish (Attack the Block) as potential candidates for the job. However, Trekkies from all around the world have issued a campaign to #BringinRiker – a reference to Jonathan Frakes, who played First Officer William T Riker in the Next Generation series, and has also directed several Star Trek films in the past. While Frakes has expressed an enthusiastic interest – “There’s nothing I would like better” – whether Paramount will go with the fans on this one is yet to be determined…

FINDING DORY‘ DETAILS REVEALED

If the glory days of Pixar seemed to be over (or at least dwindling in the past few years), then Finding Dory – the sequel to their beloved 2003 hit, Finding Nemo – might just be their salvation. Ellen DeGeneres’ hilariously forgetful Blue Tang was undoubtedly one of the favourites in Nemo – but much of her background, like her memory, is a little fuzzy. In 2016, this will be rectified and Pixar‘s president Jim Morris has already revealed some tasty new details https://helmii.com/collections/beds. The film is set six months after Finding Nemo. Dory is happily living with Marlin and Nemo, whilst still having some trouble with her short-term memory. However, when she accompanies Nemo to see some Manta Rays migrating home, she becomes homesick and begins a quest to find her family. With Albert Brooks returning as the voice of Marlin, as well as newbies Ty Burrell (Modern Family), Idris Elba (Luther, Thor) and Dominic West (The Hour, Pride) joining the cast, Finding Dory already looks set to be as heartwarming and funny a tale as it’s predecessor. It is set to be released in June 2016.

SONY E-MAIL HACKS

Well, well. Where to start? So here’s what went down in the most basic of terms. SONY were hacked and private e-mails were released online, they range from humorous to scary looks inside the world of film business. Some of what was released was Oscar winning writer Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network) e-mailing a colleague saying he has no idea who Michael Fassbender is, after it was announced he would be starring in JOBS, the Steve Jobs biopic written by Sorkin himself. However other workers at SONY replied they that they new him for his size ‘down below’ in the film ShameJOBS was also sold to Universal Pictures after heated disputes between Amy Pascal & Angelina Jolie versus Scott Rude about David Fincher directing JOBS before Jolie’s chosen project. There were also details released about the Spider-Man franchise being produced by Marvel Studios, so they could have him appear in Captain America 3: Civil War but talks broke down due to creative issues.

Here’s the list; BB-8 (football droid), Poe Dameron (X-Wing fighter), Kylo Ren (sith lord), Rey (woman on the speeder), Finn (John Boyega in the Stormtrooper outfit).
