Grease is set to return to the West End from June 2023, keeping fans entertained through those long ‘Summer Nights’!
Grease will return to the Dominion Theatre from 2 June 2023 after performing to over 500,000 people in the West End this year, becoming the theatre’s most successful production since We Will Rock You. Though casting is yet to be announced, the show will once again be directed by Nikolai Foster. Arlene Phillips will also be returning as choreographer following a WhatsOnStage Award nomination for her work on the production earlier this year.
The upcoming run is dedicated to Olivia Newton-John, whose performance as Sandy in the 1978 film continues to inspire performers around the world despite news of her tragic passing in August this year.
Fans are already flocking to social media expressing their excitement for the 2023 run:
With a 50 year history across stage and screen, Grease’s legacy is both lengthy and lasting. The original 1972 Broadway production featured then little-known actors John Travolta, Patrick Swayze and Richard Gere. It won seven Tony Award nominations and firmly secured itself a place in the musical theatre history books. The rest, as we all know, is history: John Travolta went on to play Danny Zuko in the 1978 movie alongside the late Olivia Newton-John, and the production became the fourth-highest grossing live action musical of all time.
More information about the show and how to book tickets can be found on the Grease website.
