Newcastle’s Gosforth Civic Theatre has announced twelve performances of a Christmas show for children.
Entitled In a Nutshell, the show is created by PuppetShip in collaboration with visual artist Tanya Axford.
The theatre describe the show as a “heartwarming tale of growing up and letting go.”
“Little Acorn wakes up too early to find that it’s always winter, never spring,” the description continues. “In a quest to find breakfast for his friend Robin, Acorn embarks on an adventure that takes him to the edge of his world and beyond. But unlocking the secret to this frozen world means that everything must change…”
The shows will be performed by Alison McGowan and Elena Miller and features a specially created musical score by Ziad Jabero.
It is ideal for families with children between three and seven years old.
The first performance will be held on the 21st December and will run until the 30th, with two shows per day. Seats can be booked in groups of up to four or six to allow for social distancing.
The show is part of the theatre’s Christmas programme, which also includes showings of Christmas films such as Love Actually and Home Alone, and a performance from Strictly Smokin’ Big Band.
Tickets go on sale at midday on Friday the 20th November.
