Playtonic has confirmed the game has been delayed to 2017.
Yooka-Laylee has officially been delayed. The news was announced by the Managing Director of Playtonic, the game’s publishers.
“We’ve made the difficult decision to lock the release of Yooka-Laylee to Q1 2017. While we felt confident we could ship the game in October as originally planned, the team has decided that it would like to add a few extra months’ polish to our schedule. Ultimately, this will allow us to release a better game to the thousands of fans who’ve supported us throughout development.”
Those who backed the game on Kickstarter – where it raised over £2 million – will still receive the playable demo of The Toybox in July. This sandbox is designed to give players a glimpse of what they can expect in the completed game. Fans were also treated to a new trailer ahead of E3.
