Fans got a first look at the game at Star Wars Celebration.
EA have officially revealed details on Star Wars Battlefront II. During a panel at Star Wars Celebration, fans got a look at the new story, which takes place between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, as well as protagonist Iden Versio. The studio also announced that they would be working with Motive studio for the campaign story.
Motive game director Mark Thompson said in a statement:
“We wanted to create a campaign that told a story we hadn’t seen before in Star Wars. It was important for us to tell a new authentic story, one that gives players a brand-new perspective. By putting players in the boots of an elite member of the Imperial forces, we can show them what the battle was like from the other side.”
The panel also announced details for the game’s release. The game will release worldwide on November 17, with pre-order available now. Players who pre-order will gain access to special content from the upcoming film The Last Jedi – including new costumes for Kylo Ren and Rey.
The multiplayer content was also unveiled at the panel. Developed by DICE, the multiplayer aspect of Battlefront II will feature content from all three eras of Star Wars, with playable characters including Rey, Luke Skywalker, Yoda and Darth Maul available to play on maps including Mos Eisley, Yavin 4 and the Starkiller Base.
Star Wars Battlefront II will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC from November 17 and is available for pre-order now. Watch the reveal trailer below.
