Gaming News: New Content for Call of Duty and Star Wars: Battlefront previewed

Two of the year’s biggest games showed off new content at the PlayStation Experience.

Fans of Call of Duty and Star Wars Battlefront were treated to some new content during the keynote presentation.

Those playing Black Ops III received news of the games first expansion pack – Awakening – which will be available first on PlayStation 4 in 2016. There was also news of a new Esports partnership between PlayStation and Activision to begin the Call of Duty World League. This new league would have two divisions – Pro and Challenge – and see teams from all over the world take part in combat contest to win a share of a $3 million prize fund.

For Star Wars Battlefront players, there was a look at the Battle of Jakku DLC. Available free to all players from December 8, this new pair of maps take players to this new planet in events that precede the upcoming film The Force Awakens. The preview also took a look at some in game content captured during live gameplay with some of the most surprising moments in the game so far – including a player who threw Darth Vader’s lightsaber to take down an incoming ship.

Call of Duty Black Ops III is available now on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC. Star Wars Battlefront is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
