The new Metal Gear title will launch in 2017.
Konami Games have announced a new title in the Metal Gear franchise. Metal Gear Survive will be a four player stealth co-op title set in a parallel world.
Set after the events of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, Metal Gear Survive will see the surviving members of Militaires Sans Frontieres transported through a wormhole to an alternate universe. Battling against various foes – including zombies and other humans – the team must fight for survival as they find a way to return home.
In a statement, Konami European President Tomotada Tashiro said “Metal Gear Survive will offer a fresh take on the series’ famed stealth elements… but within a unique co-op setting that is designed for a truly engrossing multiplayer experience.”
Metal Gear Survive will also be the first title in the series produced since the departure of series creator Hideo Kojima, who parted ways with the company in 2015.
Metal Gear Survive is scheduled for a 2017 release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Watch the trailer below.
