Hideo Kojima received the Industry Icon Award at The Game Awards 2016 in Los Angeles. Speaking about Kojima to the audience at the Microsoft Theatre, host Geoff Keighley descried Kojima as “a great man” who he was happy to give Kojima the “moment he was robbed of” – referencing Kojima’s Konami-imposed attendance ban last year – before presenting the award.

Taking to the stage at the ceremony, Kojima thanked those who had supported him over that past year before presenting a new look at his studio’s upcoming title Death Stranding.

The new game footage confirms that Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal) and Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth) will be joining Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead) in the game, which will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive release.
