God of War

The first announcement at the conference was for the next instalment in the God of War series. Accompanied by the game’s score – composed by McCreary – fans were treated to a cinematic trailer leader into a live game-play demo featuring one of the game’s opening missions, revealing the shift in location from the world of the Greek gods to the world of the Norse.

Set several years after the end of his encounters with the Gods of Olympus, Kratos has settled into a life in a snow covered forest with his son. The game-play demo showed Kratos teaching his son how to hunt and track animals, before the lesson is derailed by a troll. Without his dual chained blades, Kratos now wields a battle axe which is infused with elemental magic. As well as controlling Kratos, players will also be able to play in arts as his son in order to achieve objectives.

God of War will be available on PlayStation 4. Watch the game-play demo below.
