Don’t Cry // Guns N’ Roses

‘Don’t Cry’ by Guns N’ Roses is a powerful ballad with meaningful lyrics, a steady beat that one can’t help but tap along to and a chorus that makes you want to serenade someone (anyone) – but what really makes the song so brilliant is the guitar solo. Arriving around two minutes into the song, the dramatic guitar solo lasts just thirty seconds but, even though it could have been longer, it is the climax of the piece nonetheless. Falling between the second chorus and third verse, the introduction of the amplified electric guitar sets nerves tingling with its crisp but earthy tone. The solo itself is very distinctive due to the diversified range of distorted, bending guitar notes. The guitar solo is certainly my favourite part of the song, and I find myself reaching to replay it numerous amounts of times.
