Arguably the most exciting part of the application process is applying for accommodation. A few weeks after you have chosen your firm choice university, you can research accommodation and apply. It is unusual to apply for accommodation for your insurance choice; instead, they’ll inform you what you need to do if your place after Results Day is at their university.

Applying to accommodation requires practicality, as with everything else. The most sensible place to live is your choice. Living a good mile away from the buildings you will be taught in will cost more money, or will give you the opportunity to walk a bit more – maybe to walk off the slight beer belly the weekend has caused? It really depends on you. The choices will range from shared bathrooms to en-suites, to a single room or flat of eight. Each university has its own method of accommodation admissions, and you will be given information on this when the time comes.
