It might feel like we’ve never been without the Kardashian-Jenner’s reality show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, but after 20 seasons, E! will say goodbye to one of its best-loved families.

Kris Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian West, Khloé Kardashian, Rob Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, and Scott Disick released a joint statement regarding the end of an era:

“After what will be 14 years, 20 seasons, hundreds of episodes and several spin-off shows, we’ve decided as a family to end this very special journey. We are all beyond grateful to all of you who’ve watched us for all of these years – through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the tears, and many relationships and children. We’ll forever cherish the wonderful memories and countless people we’ve met along the way.”

Before producer Ryan Seacrest kickstarted their lengthy careers, the Kardashians were virtually unknown – or known only through others. Matriarch Kris was known as the ex-wife of Robert Kardashian (O. J. Simpson’s lawyer) and her daughter Kim was a socialite, mixing with the likes of Paris Hilton. It was Keeping Up With the Kardashians, or KUWTK, that threw them into the spotlight and made ‘Kardashian’ a household name.

They’ve come a long way since their very first episode. From day one, the fans were invited to see everything from relationships to career highlights. Kourtney and Scott’s on/off relationship was at the centre of many episodes, and Kim’s short-lived marriage to basketball star Kris Humphries made headlines across America.

KUWTK wasn’t there just for the bad moments, however. In fact, the show has been running long enough to introduce 10 Kardashian children (that are, quite frankly, a struggle to keep up with). It was also this show that allowed people to see Caitlyn Jenner blossom in her new identity and become arguably the most famous trans woman in the world.

As for her children, Kylie and Kendall, fans will recall that they were only 10 and 11 years old when the show first started. Now, Kylie thrives as a businesswoman and a mother while Kendall is one of the most popular and recognisable models alive.

While nobody is expecting the Kardashian name to disappear from the headlines just yet, it certainly is a shame for many people that Keeping Up With the Kardashians will soon see its final episode.

With so many iconic moments, it is a reality show that will be hard to forget.
