The Hoosiers may have been fading in and out of your listening history since the release of ‘Goodbye Mr. A’, but this early EP release from their upcoming October album The Secret Service follows the example of Somewhere in the Distance by reminding you that you do, in fact, need to listen to The Hoosiers.

The tracklist starts with ‘The Wheels Fell Off’, a fun and upbeat song featuring the unmistakable Hoosier sound created by Irwin’s high vocal range, coupled with the integration of Sci-Fi sounding features as well as classic acoustic components. The timing of this track is impeccable as it immediately comes across as an energetic and easy summer hit without giving up any of it’s quality in terms of lyrics or instrumental diversity. It’s rhythmically fast paced enough to grab you and keep you listening, with strategic points of slower pace and extended vocals to really make the track into something well-crafted and admirable. Overall, it’s a catchy song that sets the standard high for the rest of the album.

The EP also features another new track, ‘Pristine’ (as yet unreleased), as well as two live recordings from their last tour and an acoustic version of previously written songs. It has yet to be announced whether this new album will be coming with a tour, but if the quality of the last is anything to go by, fans could be expecting another round of Hoosier goodness.
