The 2nd Young Adult Literature Convention will be held from July 17-19 at London’s Olympia. Part of Waterstones Children’s Laureate Malorie Blackman Laureate initiatives, this event is the largest dedicated to Teen and Young Adult fiction to be held in the UK.

The three day event will feature Q&A sessions with authors, workshops, book signings and a range of drop in activities. Alongside the confirmation announcement came the confirmation of the first group of authors who will be attending the event, which this year will be hosted by the charity Booktrust in partnership with events company Showmasters.

In addition to Blackman herself also confirmed for the event are: creator of the Mortal Instruments series Cassandra Clare, TV personalities turned authors Charlie Higson and Arabella Weir, creator of the international best-selling Skulduggery Pleasant series Derek Landy, and award-winning YA author Patrick Ness. Joining them are YouTube star Carrie Hope Fletcher and author of the Night School series C J Daugherty.

Speaking about the event announcement, Blackman said:

I am so delighted that YALC is back for a second year. Last year’s inaugural event, as part of London Film and Comic Con, had something for every story lover, and this year’s YALC promises to be bigger, bolder and even better than before.
