Gli (Wall), 2010
Renowned sculptor, El Anatsui created “Gli (Wall)” by threading together metal waste products, such as aluminum scraps and bottle caps using copper wire. With his work, the artist explores the paradoxical existence of walls, establishing them as structures which unify and provide safety but also serve to alienate and isolate. The five curtains were hung, creating an interesting and contemplative enclosure.
