A new adult animated series entitled Carol & The End Of The World is coming to Netflix this December.
The show examines how humans react to impending doom and explores how daily routines and monotony can be comforting. It is set in a world where a strange planet is racing towards Earth, creating an extinction threat and follows Carol, a quiet, uncomfortable women who appears out of place amongst everyone else, desperately trying to achieve their craziest dreams.
The series is created by Rick and Morty writer Dan Guterman and will star Euphoria’s Martha Kelly as Carol. The rest of the cast includes Beth Grant (No Country For Old Men, The Mindy Project), Lawrence Pressman (Reboot, MagnumPI, Modern Family), Kimberly Hébert Gregory (Craig of the Greek, Vice Principals), Mel Rodriguez (Onward, Last Man On Earth, Getting On), Bridget Everett (Somebody Somewhere, Patti Cake$), Michael Chernus (Severance, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Dead Ringers) and Delbert Hunt (Monster High, Super Giant Robot Brothers, Justice League: Cosmic Chaos).
The show is executive produced by Dan Guterman and Donick Cary (The Simpsons), while Kevin Arrieta (Wilfred) is co-executive producer. The animation is provided by Bardel Entertainment Inc. whom are also known for producing the animation for Rick and Morty as well as films like The Prince of Egypt and Anastasia.
Guterman commented on the new TV project: “Carol & The End Of The World is a love letter to routine. A show about the comforts of monotony. An animated and existential comedy about the daily rituals that make up the gaps that make up a life.”
Carol & The End Of The World is set to have ten 30-minute episodes, and will be available to stream on Netflix on 15 December.
